About Bruce

Bruce has authored three books about yoga and teaches workshops both nationally and abroad. He is an accomplished healer and possesses detailed knowledge and skill in yoga therapeutics.

Bruce was first introduced to yoga in the basement of a high school gym in the late 70’s in Rome, Italy, by his enlightened basketball coach. From that time on he became interested in meditation, Asian philosophy and martial arts. He studied fine art in Baltimore and Paris. While in college, he had the good fortune to become a student of several master martial arts teachers and over 15 years earned black belts in three styles.

Bruce became an art director and had a career of several years in multinational advertising agencies overseas. It was during his last year in the business in Melbourne, Australia, that he rediscovered his yoga practice. He was so inspired that he left advertising and began studying yoga in earnest. It was also at this time that he began a transition to become a successful fine art gallery painter. Bruce studied several styles of yoga, seeking out the best teachers he could find. In 1999 he was introduced to Anusara® Yoga and John Friend. John soon became his primary and most influential teacher. Anusara® Yoga merged Bruce’s love for a graceful and powerful physical practice with a life- enhancing and heart-centered spiritual practice. He soon became one of John’s lead workshop assistants for a time and is a certified Anusara® Yoga teacher.
